North Shore Business Owner Teams with Front Row Foundation to Create Once-in-a-L
Chicago, Illinois – February 1, 2014 - For those facing critical health challenges, positive and memorable experiences with loved ones become moments that are cherished forever. On Feb. 1, local business owner Carey Smolensky teamed with Front Row Foundation to give six-year-old Kadeen Alansari and his family of Huntley, Ill. a once-in-a-lifetime experience that made Alansari’s dreams come true for one special weekend. Front Row Foundation, which will celebrate it’s ten year anniversary in 2015, is a non-profit organization that puts people braving health conditions in the front row of their favorite concerts, sporting events and live theater. Smolensky is one of the founding board members of the charity, and also led the memorable outing for the family.
"Our dream is to provide a Front Row experience that will allow individuals to set aside any physical or emotional challenges while they celebrate the beauty and emotional energy of life," is the goal of Front Row Foundation as stated on their website.
Alansari, like most kindergarteners, enjoys riding his bike, making art, and spending time with his three siblings. However unlike most children his age, Alansari also suffers from a health issue called Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma, which causes brain tumors and requires chemotherapy. For his Front Row experience, Alansari, who loves everything Mickey Mouse, wished to see “Disney on Ice” with his family in downtown Chicago.
The weekend began with the Alansari, his parents and his siblings being delivered by limousine from their home to an over-night stay at the Ritz Carlton Chicago. Alansari’s special day started with Smolensky picking up the family from the hotel and whisking them to enjoy the front row of “Disney on Ice” at the United Center. Following the show, the group went to Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab for a delicious meal filled with Alansari’s favorite food, steak; followed by a trip to the Disney Store with lots of surprises along the way.
“For one incredible day, we were able to ease the pain and struggle of his illness and just let him be a normal kid enjoying all of his favorite things. That’s why I am proud to be part of the Front Row Foundation, for the chance to help make someone’s dreams come true,” said Wheeling, Illinois business owner Smolensky, who has also led two other Front Row experiences for past recipients.
Smolensky is President and Owner of Carey Smolensky Productions and Mobile Music Interactive Entertainment, which are celebrating over 35 years of event and entertainment production in the corporate and social spheres locally, nationally, and globally. Smolensky has always been a firm believer on giving back to his community both personally and through his businesses.
"Every day I am reminded of my good fortune; through my loving wife Diane, my children Blake and Rachel, and through my businesses. It is because of this, that I find ways to give back to my community; whether through my work with Front Row Foundation and other charitable events or through performances and events created by my family of companies that are donated to worthy causes. The act of charity starts from within, but the final results should never be for yourself; but for those you are serving. I serve others, like the Alansari family, because it is the right thing to do," says Smolensky.
